Ask 10 people how to clear up acne and you are guaranteed to get 10 different answers. I had terrible acne as a teenager and some mild acne in my 20’s. My thirties seem to be a bit kinder, however, now is the dawn of eye creases and brow wrinkles, but that is a different post all together.
1. Steam. A good way to reduce the amount of inflammation and prevent future breaks out is to steam the skin once or twice a week. The heat opens the pores, which should then be cleaned. Use soap made for the face.
2. Exfoliate. The reason pores become clogged varies but the result is always the same. Pimples. If the dirt and layer of dead surface skin is rubbed away this can reduce break outs. A dried avocado pit or whole raw walnuts tossed in a coffee grinder and powdered is a good scrub. Mix with your daily face soap and exfoliate 2-3 times weekly.
3. Routine. Make sure you have a good routine in place, morning and evening. This is probably the most important tip I can give. It so important to keep delicate facial skin clean to prevent acne.
4. Change your pillow cases and sheets. Often this is an overlooked part of acne prevention. How many hours a night is your face pushed again your pillow? Throw those shams in the wash at least once a week.
5. You are what you eat. The skin is a first defense against bacteria and viruses. Keep it healthy and well nourished. Opt for fruits and veggies instead of fast food a few times a week. Spend a little extra for the natural cleansers and astringents instead of the chemical packed less expensive brands. Your skin will say thanks!
6. Experiment. Not ever skin tone and type is the same. I have a friend with perfect, gorgeous skin and when she uses any product, breaks out. I’m the opposite. I need help to keep my pores small and redness reduced. I’ve been through every product on the shelf and have found an almost perfect combo.
I did find a product that I like and is natural. You may like it too. Click here

Thanks for the tips. What I use until now is Apricot scrub which I but from a local market. It also helps exfoliate old dead skin cells to reveal the new ones..
