For my husbands birthday I bought him this amazing shirt. Its English, Welsh really. Purchased the thing online about 3 weeks before hand. Wasn’t all that cheap either, but he is worth every penny.
Fast forward three months, we are at his mother’s house eating dinner and all down the front of his shirt spills olive oil. I’ve never witnessed a grown man cry over his favorite shirt getting ruined, but I have come close. I soaked it, washed it, used vinegar, stain remover, washed the thing about 4 times. I thought it was relegated to the trash or, at the least, the back of the closet. I was so upset.
Thank you Gramma! She told me that Talc or Cornstarch will take out an oil stain. I used baby powder. It wasn’t going to work. The shirt was washed almost half a dozen times. Baby powder was not going to take out a worked in oil stain. So I coated the area, let is sit over night, brushed off the excess into the sink and for the 5th time washed the thing.
It worked! The stain was a thing of the past. I was very relieved and pissed. If only I had known about this about 5 years ago! It works for all oil based stains. So use it on your carpet, delicates, car seats, or table cloth. I haven’t used this on leather yet, so let me know if it works with leather.

It is amazing how simple a remedy is not known by everyone. This is a great tip, thanks!
